THE STORMS OF LIFE
When things go wrong in spite of all our hard work and preparation, we often wonder, "Can anything good come from this?" When the storms of life, bills pile up, family disputes, a job ends, just the everyday storms of life, do you ask "Can anything good come of this?" God's response is "YES!!" A young boy described how his family realized this. Because of his father's work, the family often had to move. It was hard for the children to make lasting friendships and when the boy was sixteen, the family moved again. This made the young man very angry and he shouted, "Can any good come from this?" But good did come from it. The house was owned by a Christian businessman. Each month when he came to collect the rent, he brought Christian literature and even gave the boy a Bible. From these items, the children learned Bible verses and shared them with other members of the family. Within a year, the entire family had accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. Can any good come from trials, sickness, marital difficulties, or even death? Yes, when we learn to commit everything to the Lord. Joseph was able to preserve his family and nation during the years of famine. Upon meeting his brothers, Joseph said, "Ye thought evil against me; but God meant it for good." Good can come from anything when God is in charge.
