READ EXODUS 1 - 3 HERE
Why did the midwives refuse to kill the Hebrew boy children?

Why did Moses leave Egypt?

How did God reveal Himself to Moses in Midian?

LESSON: Isn't it wonderful that God never gives up on us even when we do wrong. We see the gread leader Moses doing wrong, but God still used him. God wants to use you also.

PRAYER: Father, remind me that good or bad, right or wrong, You are with me. Amen!

Sustained by Prayer
Prayer sustains God's people. The follower of Christ receives courage and confidence in the most difficult situations when he cries out to the Lord from the depth of his heart in prayer. Luke records in the book of Acts the peace Stephen received as he was being stoned. This faithful servant of God was praying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" in the closing moments of his life. Reports are still being received through missionaries of the terrible experiences Christians are undergoing in foreign countries such as China and the Middle East. We are beginning to experience persecution in our own country as more and more of our freedoms are being removed and silenced. Our hearts have peace because of prayer in difficult times. A Christian writer wrote, "Above all, I am a Christian. I felt at ease in prison and when I was set free, and strange as it may seem, I was stronger, through I had been subjected to very bad conditions." He went on to attribute his victory to prayer. When trouble surrounds you and you feel overwhelmed, think of Stephen and Joseph. Call out to God in faith. You will learn what it means to be sustained by prayer!
