LESSON: Just as God promised rin in due season, God will be there in the time of need. God is faithful. The question is, "Are we failthful to Him?" Let us be found faithful in duty and in word.

Obstacles and Opportunities

A little boy was leading his younger sister up a steep mountain path. The climbing was difficult, for there were many rocks in the way. Finally, the little girl, tired and sore, said to her brother, "This isn't a path at all. It's all rocky and bumpy." Her brother replied, "Yeah, you're right, but the bumps are what you climb on." If anyone ever faced obstacles, it was Joseph. His brothers hated him. He was sold into slavery. He was falsely accused and thrown into an Egyptian prison. Yet, he continued to trust in the Lord and walk by faith. Rather than causing hi to stumble, these hardships were stepping-stones in his service for God. What about you? Are obstacles in your path? Do you feel like quitting? Turn to the Lord for the strength, the grace and the direction that can come only from Him. Take your eyes off the difficulties and keep them steadfast on the goal of being prepared for greater service to the Lord. God did not promise to remove all the stones from your path, but He has promised to help you every step of the way. Remember, "Bumps are what you climb on."
