Today’s society raises certain people to the category of “STAR” because of their talent in sports, music, acting, or some other special ability. The stars who are often appreciated the most, are usually (those who accept their popularity graciously and remain ~ humble despite their greatness. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to be stars of another nature. In Philippians 2:15, the Apostle Paul said we are to be “...Blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” Just as the blessed Son of God was known as the light of the world, those who have faith in Christ are expected to stand out in this dark and sinful world, like stars in the heavens. We know that Satan, with all his might, will accuse, deceive, divide and destroy the peace and joy that we have in Christ. Because we have the Holy Spirit within us, we know that “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. “ I John 4:4. As we grow in the Lord, we take on His characteristics. We become bright, shining stars for the purpose of drawing other people to Christ. A poet wrote: I want my life to shine for Jesus
So that everywhere I go The watching world will see He loves them And His saving grace will show.
